Find out if you are eligible to apply: Are you interested in working, studying, visiting, traveling through, or living permanently in Canada? Discover what immigration programs you might be eligible for. Each program has distinct application and eligibility requirements, which could include inquiries about your nationality, age, language ability, family members, education, work experience, income and/or net worth, and any job offers.
Based on your responses, we'll help identify which programs you may be eligible for, emphasizing the importance of accuracy in your answers. If eligible, you'll receive a detailed list of next steps. For assessments and consultations, please contact Cristina Cruz, a licensed immigration consultant, at gen12immigrationservices@gmail.com.
You can explore job opportunities in Canada using various resources such as the Working in Canada tool, labour market information, and job banks. These platforms provide valuable insights into available jobs across different regions and industries in Canada.
An Open Work Permit authorizes you to work for almost any employer in Canada. Exceptions include employers who have failed to comply with certain conditions or those offering striptease, erotic dance, escort services, or erotic massages. This permit is available under specific situations and is not job-specific, meaning you won't need a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) or proof of an employment offer through the Employer Portal. However, an open work permit holder fee, along with the work permit fee, is usually required.
Restrictions: Your open work permit may have restrictions, such as the type of job you can hold or your work location, which will be specified on your permit.
A Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) is a document employers in Canada may need before hiring a foreign worker. A positive LMIA indicates the necessity of a foreign worker for a job and confirms no Canadian worker or permanent resident is available for the position, often referred to as a confirmation letter. Employers must apply for an LMIA, and once obtained, the foreign worker can proceed to apply for a work permit with the required documents, including a job offer letter, a contract, a copy of the LMIA, and the LMIA number.
Consider the Express Entry pathway for skilled professionals aiming to permanently live in Canada. Here's a simplified checklist:
Skilled Work Experience: At least one year (full-time or equivalent part-time) within the last ten years in a skilled occupation classified under TEER Categories 0, 1, 2, or 3.
Language Proficiency: Achieve a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher in an IRCC-approved language test.
Education: Your degree must be validated as equivalent to a Canadian credential through an Educational Credential Assessment by a recognized organization.
Meeting these criteria positions you well for evaluation under the federal skilled worker points grid. If your qualifications align, Canada could be your next home!
